In the Perspectives Workshop: Categorical Methods at the Crossroads we have discussed economics as an application area for the high-end mathematical tools that have been developed in computer science for the modelling of complex systems. Economies and in general social systems have much in common with complex software systems, theoretically but also practically since software is more and more used to actually implement and control social systems.
