Graham Joncas posted a nice discussion at his blog of the research underlying the philosophy of OICOS. He lists the work of several researchers who are working outside of standard economics. Among these researchers he has also summarised Viktor Winschel's research: "Winschel’s aim is nothing less than to rhizomatically link economics to the furthest frontiers of theoretical computer science, formal logic, and mathematical research itself.
